Sometimes there's no right choice, and then they're upon you. 3am, sound turned up, the rumbling of the screws over head, the whispered shouts of the hydrophone man calling out the movements of the escorts, maneuvering at 2 knots trying to evade "do I go deeper?" you think, "do I make a turn?". I remember going hardcore and learning all the manual targeting solution stuff, using all the mod tools that improve this experience, toying with the WhizWheels for it. Play SH4, enjoy the mods, but don't pass up SH3. The depth of what you can do is unparalleled in any sub game. The engine has limitations, but the dynamic campaign with GWX is just. The variety of stuff available for SH3 is extraordinary. The competition for mega mods in SH3 is even better. I don't care if you like the Pacific more, GWX is better. I feel anyway that this particular kind of war has received too little attention from sw houses, and most of that has gone in the usual commercial direction that mostly assumes that WW2 sub warfare = german uboats In the end I like the US boats more, but it's just personal taste. For example, Germans had torpedoes which were much more complex and advances than the American ones (in WW2, the torpedo has always been the weak-point of US made Subs) nonetheless American boats were fitted with systems which German captains only could dream of specially, in the field of aids to calculate the firing solution. One nice feature of these sims is that you can appreciate how different nations invested their resources in researching different components of the under-water war machines. For example, the British submarines in the Mediterranean against German/Italian convoys, or maybe again against the Japanese in the Far East colonies. It would had been interesting if they ever made an expansion, or a mod with other scenarios. The one I played the most has been SH4, because I'm not into german U-boats and, like you prefer the Pacific Theater. You'll also find all the information on the mods that you need. THE place to look and ask further questions on all things submarine simulations is. The closest thing to a supermod is collections of recommended mods that work together. The mods make it quite playable now, but unfortunately there is no one supermod the likes of GWX, nor is there ever likely to be one. Many, many mods have improved greatly on this, and the full War is now playable, albeit still only with a Type VII. A further disappointment is that it only includes the Type VII U-Boat and only half of the war, whilst the SH3 dynamic campaigns stretched over the full duration of WW2 and included the Type II und Type IX Uboats as well. While this is pretty cool, the game was still very bugged when it came out. Graphically a huge improvement over SH3, SH5 also modelled the full interior of the U-Boat, allowing you to walk to each station in first person view. Lastly there is Silent Hunter 5, which takes the action back to the German U-Boats of the Atlantic. The graphics also hold up much better by today's standards. While it was a bit of disappointment when it came out due to a great number of bugs, most of these have been fixed and there are a good number of mods out now that greatly improve the experience. There's also an expansion that lets you sail the German Type IX so called "Monsoon Boats" in the East Asia theatre. SH4 takes the action elsewhere to the WW2 Pacific theatre, where you play on the American side for a change. No U-Boat game after has really matched it so far.Īfter Silent Hunter 3 came the much anticipated Silent Hunter 4. If you use a 16:9 or 16:10 resolution, it'll stretch the 4:3 image to fit. There has been a fix for a number of years now to let the game run in any resolution, but only at an aspect of 4:3. Which was even quite ridiculous for the time. The graphics are somewhat dated but still acceptable, however the game only ever ran at a game-native resolution of 1024x768!. Unfortunately SH3 is quite old now, released in 2005. It's probably the greatest U-Boat game ever done, and the added depth and content GWX gives the game is unparalleled. I was actually on the Silent Hunter 3 GWX mod team once and did many of the ship skins. 2/13/2024 0 Comments Oak and ember port st lucie□ Memorable Moments: Share joyous moments with loved ones, colleagues, or friends within our welcoming and vibrant environment. The gas mask only protects the user from digesting, inhaling, and contact through the eyes (many agents affect through eye contact). Most gas masks are also respirators, though the word gas mask is often used to refer to military equipment (such as a field protective mask), the scope used in this article. The ones that had an advantage at first were the ones that had stock to sell before being required to produce more.Ī nice article I have read about choosing a gas mask is: 8 Things You Should Know Before Buying a Gas MaskĬontact International Ltd. Most gas mask manufacturers and other respiratory protective equipment manufacturers are working around the clock to keep up with demand. In today's hectic and turbulent times price is not the only issue that is important but also the availability of the goods and how fast can they be delivered. To choose a brand new gas mask you need to see that they are manufactured according to NIOSH ( National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) guidelines for respirators and other protective equipment as well as MIL-STD is applicable depending on the end user. Retail prices for surplus gas masks is about $40-$60 but again they offer no real protection. The cost for most of these is well over $100. There are excellent manufacturers of gas masks in many countries: Israel, US, UK, Czech Republic and others. What is the solution? Purchase a brand new gas mask and filter for NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) protection. Again, for non-operational purposes it doesn't matter, but if you are purchasing a surplus gas mask for protection against biological or chemical agents DO NOT DO IT! The ultimate problem with surplus is that you and neither the seller know how the gas masks have been kept before they arrived at the shop. The filters that can last well beyond 25 years are practically ruined and useless if kept in a humid environment or if they have been wet and left to dry. The rubber that the gas masks are made of tends to dry and discolor if exposed to sunlight for a long time. The Israeli surplus gas masks that are currently on the market are mostly from the 1990's to early 2000's, beyond or getting close to their 20-25 year shelf life. Gas masks that have been taken out of government, military or other organizations' operational inventory have not been stored in the optimal conditions that they needed to be in and so THERE IS NO GUARANTEE AS TO THEIR EFFECTIVENESS. Surplus gas masks and filters have a certain shelf life provided that they have been stored in an environment that is according to the manufacturer's specifications in terms of temperature, humidity, exposure to sunlight and others. As a novelty product, as part of a gas mask collection, for a costume or for any other leisure activity, the surplus gas masks are great, BUT NOT AGAINST A HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS BIOLOGICAL VIRUS WHICH REQUIRES OPERATIONAL GRADE PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. Selling surplus gas masks, especially the Israeli civilian and M15 military models has been one of our most popular products for over three decades. The Corona virus COVID-19 pandemic in which we are currently in the midst of has led to a surge of requests to us for surplus Israeli gas masks and others. I cannot understand why Apple did so lazy job with Bluetooth. The panel is to simplistic, does not give any details of devices, does not provide any feedback of tasks, it's unstable and not even my iPhone works right, I gave up using bluetooth mouse. Maybe with some third-part software will work properly.Īlso, I must say the bluetooth control of macOS High Sierra is the same crap of all predecessors systems. It will connect but will blink all the time and the bt will say is not connected, but I can play Alien Isolation! However, I have to keep it wired or it will turn off automatically. The bad imitation won't even apear on the bluetooth list, it's virtually impossible to connect. But I can say this: I have three ps3 controllers, one 100% original untested (will use only with my console), a good imitation and a bad imitation. I got something! I did so many things in my High Sierra Macbook Pro 2012 that is difficult to say why is working. I tried the controller on a PC and it connects fine. I plugged in the dongle and when i press the connect button on the controller it just continues to flash without connecting. Use a USB cable, connect the controller to your new machine you want. I have a RPI3 and I just bought an Afterglow PS3/PC wireless controller with USB dongle. How to connect PS3 controller on Mac OSX, PC, etc. Now, press and hold the Home button (power button) on the controller until the LED on the USB dongle and the 4 indicator LED's on the controller are solid. This made me wonder if it was the bluetooth connection that was being lost with the console, and NOT the battery needing charging. I noticed that whenever the controller was sycning with the console, that the lights would blink. If this happens, the USB will allow the controller to work, but as soon as you unplug it, the lights will start flashing again.Īs far as I remember, the manual doesn't mention that the blinking lights could be due to the bluetooth connection being lost - it only mentions the blinking lights in relation to the battery needing charging (this belief also made me question the battery on the controller itself). I believe you are suffering from the bluetooth connection being lost or interrupted - as I found. Basically, as 2nyRiggz suggested, try resetting the controller (using the small button on the back of the controller - use a paper clip). Mantishead and tobefirst, your problem with the blinking lights sounds exactly like my problem which I solved. I leave the PS3 on pretty much all the time. I have the recent 40GB PS3 and I have the Nyko BlueWave remote dongle plugged in. This happens when the controllers have been charging and when they have been not charging, so I don't think it is a battery issue. Only then will the PS button get the controller to assign itself a number and work properly. (Also click OK, not esc, on the Game Controllers mini page to implement your changes. Click on the drop-down option and select your gamepad, and then OK. On the Game Controllers mini page that pops up, click the option that says Advanced. The only thing that seems to fix the problem so far is turning the console off (via the switch in the back) and then turning it back on. Use Windows + R to open the Run Command and then enter cpl. As a result, most of the time, I am tethered to the console via the USB cord, because the flashy lights go away when I plug the controller in. More than half the time when I try to turn the controllers on, all they do is blink 4 lights continuously, and never "connect" to the console. Except for the driver, the file wasn't there where the guides said it would be.I've been having a problem with my PS3 controllers that my resident PS expert can't help me with, so I'm turning to you guys. I'm not sure if installing PSN installed/updated the drivers on my controller, or not, so I tried doing it manually. type driverquery and press the Enter key. I'm at my wit's end right now, with no idea what to try. Step 1: First, check your currently installed drivers by launching the Command Prompt. I tried re-installing SCP, Steam loses sight of the controller and yet SCP sees the input just fine in test mode. Now Steam recognizes the device immediately no issue, but doesn't receive any of the input!! Uninstalled SCP, downloaded and installed PSNow, enabled the Steams controller software. I looked around and seems like many people had the same problem, so I followed in their footsteps. However, Steam does not recognize the controller at all, and inputs are not registered in-game. Thus I know the device works, the inputs work, and everything should be fine. I used to use the SCP program, which still works wonderfully in the sense that in the test window it registers every button press as it did before. Hello, I used to play many games with my PS3 controller, but after not using it for a while and trying again, it wouldn't work anymore. |
